I'm Addicted

Oh.
My.
Goodness.

The Tudor era has always been interesting to me...King Henry VIII anyone?
But, I've always only known the surface stories...the beheadings, the portly king with the drumstick in his hand, the 6 wives, etc. etc. etc.

While this 4 year series certainly takes dramatic license at times, it certainly has a place to re-ignite our curiosity about history.

I hear students all the time complain about learning history..."Why do we have to learn about all these things that happened a long time ago?"

People in the South are possessive about their religion...even the Southern Baptists who cling tightly to their King James Bibles.
Wonder if they've ever thought about where that Bible came from?

From Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn's union, the world was given Elizabeth I, one of the greatest rulers in history.
When Elizabeth died without an heir, she had chosen the son of Mary Queen of Scots as her successor
King James anyone??

Very exciting stuff, ya'll!

  1. I, too, am addicted to this series, and just get so into it! I just got season 4 on disc the other day, and happen to be watching it tonight (at least a few episodes), so this post came at the perfect time. I am glad to see that I am not alone with the fascination for this show!

  2. I've watched the entire series twice (picture my cheeks a little pink here) The first time I watched it was for pure enjoyment; the 2nd time was to compare historical fact to drama. I loved it both times!
