Snapshot Saturday - Puppy Love Vegas Style

The Head of My Household and I are in Vegas this weekend for the Miss USA pageant.  Neither of us are pageant people in the least but a former student of ours is in the pageant and we are here to support her as official representatives of our school.
Sacrifices, sacrifices. ;)

We arrived late yesterday afternoon, early evening to 107 degrees temps.
I'm not kidding, nor exaggerating.
I thought MS was hot.

When we checked into our hotel the AC in our room was not working.
We waiting patiently (actually pretty impatiently) for the AC "engineer" to arrive and then ended up changing rooms anyway.  By the time we got settled, I was pretty done for the night...the husband couldn't stand to let the night go without a round at the casino so I sent him downstairs with my blessings, and I went to bed.
Pretty romantic, right? :/
Hopefully, today will be a much better day and next Saturday I'll have fabulous Las Vegas snapshots to share :)

In the meantime, you'll have to rest your eyes on my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Lizzie who really belongs to my middle daughter.  Lizzie was a gift to me from my mom but likes my kid better :/
Ain't that somethin'?

Anyhoo, Lizzie gets depressed almost when my middle daughter is gone for several hours...

I try to talk to her and she does respond somewhat...

But, the minute she hears her mommy's car in the driveway...

she comes to life...you've never seen so much wiggling once my middle daughter walks through the door :/
Go ahead and roll your eyes...I rolled mine :)

I think I'm more of a Big Dog mommy anyway ;)

Saturday Snapshot is hosted by Alyce @ At Home with Books.

  1. My brother had a spaniel when we were kids and nothing could keep that dog away from the school bus in the afternoon. He would race off to meet my brother getting off the bus and just be so happy to see him.

    1. She's a very friendly dog...but the hardest animal to potty train I have ever had :( That one characteristic keeps me becoming too affectionate with her.

  2. I met a few Cavalier King Charles spaniels in my walk and they were very friendly. I enjoyed talking with the owners about their dogs.

Maybe go tto he pool to beat the heat.

    1. You should see the lines to get to the pool! One pool is for Adults only so you can imagine the rest :p

    1. She's an affectionate little gal...if she has a potty accident, she'll lay her head down and look up at me with those eyes...like "I really didn't mean to."

  5. Lizzie is a lovely girl. And animals are gonna like who they're gonna like. I begged and pleaded for a dog when I was about 10. We got Tasha (a poodle/Lhasa Apso mix--that makes a Lhasa-poo, btw...always makes me giggle). And she liked me okay...but my mom was her favorite.

Hopefully you won't have to spend too much time out in the heat....107...yikes!

    Here's my Snapshot.

    1. We just came in from a couple hours of walking around...my face is sooo hot! We're beat already. Think we'll stay in till the sun goes down.

  6. Haha! Isn't it funny how a dog's loyalty to a special person is unshakeable? Now, that's a dog with character! Woof! Woof! Wiggle! Wiggle!

    1. It's really funny since she was supposed to be my dog and picked my daughter instead :/ She's not much of a barker unless she's outside barking at something or somebody...she mostly wiggles and whines when her mommy comes home :)

  7. Aww! She's sweet. But yeah, I'd be put off by the potty issue.

    1. I've had dogs all my life and have successfully potty trained many of them...I can't figure out what the difference is with this one :( But, it drives me crazy!

  8. If you don't sound like my husband and I! We have been in Vegas a number of times (we got married there) and 90% of the time I head off to bed while my husband zombie-walks, with bug-eyes and twitchy fingers, off to the casino. Often I would wake up at 3 in the morning, and his side of the bed would be empty! Ha! Anyway, your puppy is adorable, and they are little people so they do get depressed. God bless 'em.

    1. I can play $20 at the slots and be happily done...or not. Thankfully my husband is enough of a penny pincher that after losing $100, he's grumpy but done gambling :) Whew!

  9. They are companion dogs who don't like being alone. My SIL's Cavalier is her constant clingy companion -- very sweet though. Have fun in Vegas.

  10. It's amazing how pets choose one person to attach to like that. I hope you have a fun time in Vegas!
