We're in Memphis this weekend for some work and fun. This photo is sunset over the Mississippi River on the first night from the patio at the top of our hotel :)
Just lovely, don't you think?
Snapshot Saturday is hosted by Alyce over @ At Home with Books

That's a gorgeous photo!
ReplyDeleteThanks! The view was that gorgeous so it was an easy shot :)
DeleteAbsolutely beautiful! I love sunsets....
ReplyDeleteHere's my Snapshot.
The 2nd night we were here we actually watched the sun set over a period of almost 2 minutes...right into the water it seemed...really pretty.
DeleteI didn't realise Memphis and the Mississippi were so beautiful. My Snapshot is at http://goo.gl/qCafm

ReplyDeleteI was here on my honeymoon almost a year ago.....the sunsets are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteSam, we honeymooned here 23 years ago :)
DeleteGorgeous photo! Enjoy your trip!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteVery lovely photo! Enjoy your stay in Memphis.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Suko!
DeleteI was in Memphis early last year and thought downton was really cool. Great shot and have a great time!
ReplyDeleteIt's a mixture of really nice places and some not so nice places, Natalie. The city is trying to bring it back up though. We walked down Beale Street last night and there were policemen everywhere to keep things safe. It can be a dangerous city if you don't know where to go and where not to go. I hope the politicians and city officials can bring it back though bc there's a lot of history here.
DeleteThat is SO gorgeous! I love the soft reflection of color in the water, too!
ReplyDeleteMe too! Nature at its best! :)
DeleteLovely indeed! And Walking in Memphis is a great song. :)
ReplyDeleteI've been humming it all weekend :)
DeleteWhat a gorgeous capture Patti.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Diane...very easy since the view is that nice :)
DeleteEnjoy the music! The sunsets are already winners!
ReplyDeleteWe listened to some great jazz bands on Beale Street on Thursday night before it got packed with people Friday and Saturday night. We walked down there last night just to see and decided very quickly that the weekend nights are a whole different ballgame :) We came back to the rooftop pretty quickly ;)
DeleteSuch a great shot!
ReplyDeleteHere is my Saturday Snapshot post!
Thanks!
DeleteEverything about that is beautiful! It's like a painting.
ReplyDeleteIt's that naturally beautiful at night, Alyce :)
DeleteI would spend a lot of time on that patio, I think. Great shot!
ReplyDeleteMy Scottish Saturday Snapshots
We did, Lisa :)
DeleteVery lovely indeed.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeletePretty picture!!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteI've never gotten to spend any quality time in Memphis, but I've always wanted to. Have a great time!
ReplyDeleteMemphis is struggling to survive...but right now there is a strong push to renovate the downtown area back to its historical splendor. I hope they succeed :)
DeleteIt's always exciting to visit new places! Lovely sunset. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteThat is truly gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteOne would just want to sit there, sip some eternal drink, and never leave.
The Madison Hotel has a bar on the rooftop...so the eternal drink is certainly a possibility ;)
DeleteGorgeous sunset. enjoy your visit.

Thanks! We did!
DeleteI hope your trip to Memphis was lovely!
ReplyDeleteOk, we are on our way to the beach....I am catching up on reading your blog in the van. I should have just left my book at home! Ha! I can just keep on reading your book reviews and I will be good! :) Seriously, I love reading your reviews.....it is fun for me.
i brought only one book for the week.....The Count of Monte Cristo. Unabridged. 1200+ pages. Do you think I can finish it? Do you like it?
Roan, it's been a while since I read The Count of Monte Cristo or anything else by Dumas but I like the good old fashioned action packed classics like this one...not so much explicit violence like some of the stuff today. Just makes me feel better sometimes :) I usually pair a chunkster like this one with something shorter and completely different so I don't get worn out before I'm done. I'm reading Stephen Kind's The Stand right now and loving it...but I've got a couple other shorter titles that I'm playing with from time to time (short funny stuff on my Iphone for walking and lighthearted dog stories on my nightstand) :) You can do it! And, I think you'll like it :)
DeleteWhat a gorgeous shot! Hope you had a good time. I bet the food was good.
ReplyDeleteThe food was good but a little too much barbeque for me :(
DeleteOh my, that is a gorgeous shot. I would have loved to see that in person. Glad that you enjoyed your trip!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
