Snapshot Saturday - The biggest baby at my house :)

My Layla and I are best pals...a quick nap each afternoon helps me shed the stress of the day and enjoy the rest of the afternoon/evening with my family.  Layla seems to know that this routine is good for me.  If I start doing something else before our nap, she will go over to the couch, sit and wait for me...while staring at me and following me with those big soulful German Shepherd eyes as if to remind me that I must take time for myself.

Have I mentioned that I love my dog? :)

  2. Okay, but can you breath with her lying on your chest? I nap with my cats but they will nap any time -- no schedule. Cozy shot of the two of you. Here's Mine

    1. Ha! She didn't stay there :) She usually sleeps at the other end of the couch with her head on my legs...for some reason that particular day, she wanted to hug me :) My youngest daughter couldn't resist the shot :)

    1. She is one of the two best dogs I've ever had...the other one was a Chow and we had her for 13 years before she died of breast cancer. Still makes me weepy.

  8. It's a beautiful photo, but it's a good job she doesn't stay like that for long - she looks heavy!

    1. She's between 85-90 lbs. Her body is more off to the side in this photo so her weight is not directly on top of me. I wouldn't have been able to breathe :) She just felt like an extra hug for some reason that afternoon :)

    1. It's so true that dogs rescue their owners as much, if not more, than the owner rescues the dog :)

  11. Nothing better than taking a nap with the dog. However in your case a smaller dog might be more comfortable. Ha ha.
