I've had a little more time this summer than I actually do during the school year, but we have to make multiple trips to Laurel each week whether we like it or not. There's just not that much in Ellisville, shopping or otherwise. CVS and Walgreens are right across the street from one another in Laurel, which is extremely convenient, and Kroger is just right down the highway.

Whitney and I went to Hattiesburg to the movie, and of course there are multiple stores for both there. We don't go to Hattiesburg often though so I'd have to be extrordinarily organized to take advantage of Rite Aid and Target since those are both a 30 minute drive away.

I haven't been bold enough to do the multiple checkouts...there seems to always be a line and after my first couple of Walgreens escapades, I try to be really organized, get everything I need, hand the coupons to the cashier in order and get the heck out of there. I don't mind holding over my RR and ECB's so far. My OOP is a little high some weeks, but that just helps me save for the next week when my OOP will be very low like this week:)

I canned 11 more pints of tomatoes today...WHEW! But, I really love that too...makes me feel so productive :)Peppermint Ph.D.https://www.blogger.com/profile/02839146118641977559noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6008560569188093094.post-7216383774356057112010-07-25T17:25:37.398-05:002010-07-25T17:25:37.398-05:00wow...now that IS a productive week! One of my sons just loves that cheese chex mix. :)Betsy Brockhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06807795605763246015noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6008560569188093094.post-5025483518276882502010-07-25T06:11:16.981-05:002010-07-25T06:11:16.981-05:00I am so enjoying reading about your Walgreens/CVS ...I am so enjoying reading about your Walgreens/CVS shopping! I haven't done either one this summer because of time. I usually do Walgreens only because it is next door to Kroger, and CVS is all the way across town, nowhere near anything else I need to do. i usually do multiple checkouts to maximize my OOP, but it is a lot of trouble, and the cashiers are sometimes not happy to do it. I have considered doing like you said....just paying for it all (with coupons of course), and just using my RR the next week. After one week, I should not have a significant OOP, right? You have inspired me! I think I will go to Walgreens this week!

I am also considering trying once a month shopping at Kroger......I don't know. Once we start school, I have to buy my groceries on Saturdays, and I really don't want to go to Kroger every Saturday. But when I have done major shopping, even for 2 or 3 weeks, the stress has just about done me in!

I may can tomatoes week after next. I have never done it, by my older neighbor wants to teach me.Roanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15267573890805062760noreply@blogger.com
