My mom has Leukemia.
I've said it.

My mom reads my blog sometimes so I've been nervous about posting.

After being diagnosed on April 10, we are finally settling in for the long haul that is treatment, hopefully remission, and of course, a cure.

Leukemia is a kick-ass kind of cancer.  It's a cancer of the bone marrow and blood, so from the get-go, it's all over your body.  No stages for this disease.  Everybody who's diagnosed automatically wins the prize.

My mom has Acute Myeloid Leukemia...untreated, it can kill a person in 4-5 months.
It comes on sudden and takes a person down fast.

I'm sitting here now, watching her sleep.  She's just had her 3rd bone marrow test and has been in the hospital since April 13.

It feels good to type.
