The firstborn's graduation announcements arrived yesterday.
And, yes, I'm feeling quite emotional.
I asked her yesterday how in the world I'm supposed to let her go.
She said, "Geez, Mama...I'm gonna live 5 feet from your office!"
Ok, ok...I'm trying to be rational; I really am.
I love my babies.
Period.
:p
Awwww.
ReplyDeleteI can see my son living on his own. He's so "old world" now. I mean, what 12-year-old do you know who has Frank Sinatra on his iPod? Plus, he has his entire life planned out.
My daughter though...she's 7 and she still has that baby face. I watch her while she is sleeping and she still looks like she did when she was three.
At least your daughter will be close enough for you to keep an eye on.
What a sweet picture!
ReplyDeleteThat makes ME emotional. My daughter is going to be in 8th grade next year, then high school...she is going to be graduating before I blink. Ugh.
ReplyDeleteRational and your baby leaving home can never really go hand in hand in my book. My daughter graduated two years ago and at the time I couldn't even talk about her leaving home. She ended up staying home to go to school for the first two years. I was one happy mom. She is about to transfer and leave home for the first time and now I think I'm ready but I still get a little weepy thinking about it. Just be sure to plan some lunch dates, just you and her.
ReplyDeleteFrom start to finish, there is NOTHING rational about motherhood!
ReplyDeleteAw! That is so sweet and completely understandable. I can't believe how fast the time is passing as my kids grow.
