Wordless (Uh-huh, yeah) Wednesday

For an extra paycheck, I took on 2 summer school courses during the month of July...Composition courses...normally 17 week classes all shoved into barely 4 weeks.
Students write in composition classes...or should anyway.  Guess who gets to grade all that??
Me, that's who.

The other day I read a student essay that said the Civil War ended in 1968.

Oy?

As Wordless as I Can Be Wednesday

Yes, we have 2 black cats, Uh-Oh and Beneigt.
Yes, we have Hermione, a rescue after Hurricane Katrina.
Yes, we have Layla, my new German Shepherd puppy.
And, yes now we have this little fella, Thomas O'Malley...who likes to stretch out on my laptop.
Thomas was in dire need of a home...and I'm a sucker.

Please don't miss his little legs which are stretched out behind him :)

More on Thomas O'Malley later.

Wordless (Almost) Wednesday which is really Thursday :)

My youngest was so proud of her big sister on graduation day that she couldn't stop kissing her :)  This is not a phenomenon that happens on a daily, monthly or even yearly basis at our house, hence the specialness of the situation.

Can you tell by the look on my firstborn's face that she's had enough "sugar" from baby sister?

:)

Wordless (Almost) Wednesday

Wordless Wednesday is hosted at Beth Fish Reads.
I have a difficult time being wordless hence my addition to the title.
;)

My youngest learned how to ride her bicycle without training wheels over Spring Break last week.
All my babies seem to be riding away from me.
When I figure out exactly how I feel about that, I'll let you know.

Wordless (Almost) Wednesday

Very difficult for me to be wordless about this kid.

My firstborn...who will be 18 in just a couple of weeks.
A good kid...a smart kid...one tough cookie...
A survivor.  And a success.

I'm trying to let go; I promise.

Wordless (Almost) Wednesday

Wordless Wednesday is hosted over at Beth Fish Reads...

I just can't seem to figure out the "wordless" part :/

Do you ever wish you were a cat?

That's toilet paper in the tree with Uh-Oh by the way.

Wordless (Almost) Wednesday - San Francisco Garden

On the last day of my recent trip to San Francisco, as I longingly looked out the window of the office building where I spent my days while I was away last week, I spotted this "community" garden.  I saw several residents of the apartment complex around the garden come out at various times to tend their little patches.  My family was freezing in Mississippi, but it was Springtime in Northern California (look at the blooms on the little tree in the right bottom corner).
Go Figure!

Wordless Wednesday

My youngest on Christmas morning...still battling the flu but turning the corner thanks to Tamiflu, Bitty Baby and matching pajamas, robe and bunny slippers.

Has anybody else noticed that I have a hard time being "wordless"?

Wordless Wednesday - Squeakers the Academic Squirrel

Yes, I have a squirrel in my house...orphaned baby and all that.
No, he did not chew my copy of Garland of Girls.
His little squirreley butt would no longer  be in my house if he had.

His favorite place to perch is on top of my copy of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare.

No, this post is not wordless as it should be ;)
